  • My ultimate mission is ….?

    Daily writing prompt
    What is your mission?

My mission is to be a better sister and a better daughter to my family. I know I can’t be perfect and make everyone around me happy, but I am determined to leave a positive legacy for them to remember. Despite having thousands of shortcomings, I am doing my best to improve for myself and my family. My ultimate mission is to be the better human being I can be.

  • How I Journey for Healing and Hope

Self-reflection day! Just when a path seems clear, life introduces even greater stumbling blocks. Success, seemingly within reach, often eludes us, appearing farther away than our hopeful visions. It may seem unjust to many, yet numerous individuals have achieved remarkable feats this year. As the year draws to a close, celebrations abound for those who have conquered milestones, but there exists a handful mourning the year’s end due to debt repayment, personal failures, worries about their children’s education, and more.

My question today is, have we gleaned valuable lessons from the experiences of this year? Do we harbor any regrets in life? Is there room for improvement that we recognize within ourselves? Are we confident enough to step into a new year with a hopeful heart, or are we still contemplating what lies ahead? I won’t deny that I’ve encountered thousands of setbacks this year, making it a challenging period filled with burdens and trials. However, I can proudly proclaim that amidst these challenges, I’ve learned the art of healing, and for that, I am grateful to God.

As Christmas approaches, my wish is that Santa brings a better life for me and my family in the coming year. Amen!

  • Life Today: Navigating Unseen Paths

    Daily writing prompt
Is your life today what you pictured a year ago?

Is your life today the canvas you painted a year ago?
Envisioning one path, God’s plan unfolds, a different flow.
Opting for right turns, He guides left, unexplored,
Places unseen, His divine design restored.

Difficult, it is, to align plans with the divine,
Accepting God’s will, a challenge in each line.
Hope and faith, unseen hands to trust,
Invisible, yet omnipresent, God is just.

In the shadows, doubts linger, hard to bear,
Through family troubles, a continuous affair.
Failures stack up, a questioning mind,
Am I doing right? Is God truly aligned?

In the silence, where He seems afar,
Trust wavers, like a dimming star.
    The hardships, the family strife,
Is God present in this complex life?

Yet, as the day concludes, a truth unfolds,
A purpose for all, a story He molds.
In the maze, I search for my way,
Confident my time to shine will sway.

For now, I dwell in a healing space,
Reflecting on life, its every trace.
A time to mend, a moment to heal,
In the brokenness, a purpose to reveal.

  • POPPY the best of all!

Favorite animal? I don’t have a specific favorite, but if I were to choose, it would be dogs. I remember we had a dog named POPPY when we were young. POPPY was a faithful companion who seemed to understand our language and had a great affection for us. It would even hunt down small animals that posed a threat to our crops and accompany my dad on hunting trips. Unfortunately, POPPY passed away around the age of 10 or 11.

After that, my parents couldn’t bring themselves to adopt another dog. Some dogs we had later either got lost at a young age or were unfortunately hit by vehicles, especially since we live near the National highway. I miss having such loyal friends around. I recall how, when POPPY was with us, I could confidently stay with my younger siblings in my parents’ absence at night. We knew that POPPY wouldn’t allow anyone to harm us. It used to sleep right outside our bedroom instead of its kennel when our parents were away, guarding us throughout the night without taking a nap. I wish I could meet a dog like POPPY again.

  • The irreplaceable family bond!

    Daily writing prompt
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

Over the years, I have received countless immeasurable pieces of advice from well-wishers, family, friends, teachers, and even small children around me. All of these have played a role in shaping who I am today, and for that, I am truly grateful. Recently, I received a piece of advice from my mom, that I quote, “No matter how reserved or seemingly unhelpful your parents may appear, or how irritating and immature your younger siblings can be, it’s important to remember that they are always your parents and siblings. The purpose that each of us has been given in life is not merely for show. There will come a day when you may regret not being kind to them, but dwelling on those regrets will be as futile as crying over spilled milk. Therefore, it is advisable to forgive and forget, guiding one another toward the right path so that we can all progress together.”

It often appears deceptively simple and at times illogical; however, upon careful contemplation, I have come to realize that I have not maintained a strong connection with my family. Conversely, they may struggle to comprehend my perspective. There exist countless excuses and reasons for my failure to fulfill the roles of a loving daughter and elder sister. The notion of thriving in solitude has entirely disappeared from my vocabulary, as today, the sense of ‘we’ dominates my thoughts. I am eternally grateful to my mother for imparting the best piece of advice to me.”
