The perk of being the eldest child in the family is that we tend to take on responsibilities earlier than others of the same age. Speaking from my life experiences, I can say that I was given the role of a big sister since the fourth grade. At times, I felt that I didn’t really enjoy my childhood like others did. I was expected to be a responsible sister to my younger siblings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fast forward to my early adulthood, the first time I realized that I was entering the realm of adulthood was when I was 15 years old. I felt that my friends of my age were somewhat immature, and it seemed like I didn’t quite belong with them. Our choices and tastes were entirely different, and I found myself more in tune with my older friends. That’s when I truly felt like a grown-up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
