If there were a day where I could be in any job my heart desires, then I would probably land somewhere in a less privileged community to be a humble teacher. Maybe I would be in a children’s home or perhaps in a countryside farming and getting creative with handicrafts. Probably, I would run a homestay back home and provide some freelance soft skills programs. Above all, I would love to travel around the world with my parents.

Himalaya herbal!
Surprisingly, I don’t associate with the famous clothing brand or accessories. I have a peculiar association with the Himalaya herbal face wash. I don’t exactly remember when I started using this brand; nevertheless, I have been using the brand as a go-to face wash. I have tried shifting to some other brand; however, my skin is so accustomed to this brand that it could not respond to other face wash brands. In other words, my skin is in love with Himalaya Herbal face wash. 🙂

Enjoy life YOLO!
The one thing I can do more of is ENJOY life as life is a precious, a one-time gift, often obscured by routine and responsibilities. Embracing the “You Only Live Once” (YOLO) philosophy reminds me of life’s brevity. It prompts to explore, nurture relationships, pursue passions, live in the present, make a positive impact, and remain resilient in the face of challenges. YOLO encourages a fulfilling existence, free from regrets. Seizing the moment, chasing dreams, and savoring life’s fleeting beauty, for it’s a unique opportunity never to be squandered.

The irreplaceable family bond!
Over the years, I have received countless immeasurable pieces of advice from well-wishers, family, friends, teachers, and even small children around me. All of these have played a role in shaping who I am today, and for that, I am truly grateful. Recently, I received a piece of advice from my mom, that I quote, “No matter how reserved or seemingly unhelpful your parents may appear, or how irritating and immature your younger siblings can be, it’s important to remember that they are always your parents and siblings. The purpose that each of us has been given in life is not merely for show. There will come a day when you may regret not being kind to them, but dwelling on those regrets will be as futile as crying over spilled milk. Therefore, it is advisable to forgive and forget, guiding one another toward the right path so that we can all progress together.”
It often appears deceptively simple and at times illogical; however, upon careful contemplation, I have come to realize that I have not maintained a strong connection with my family. Conversely, they may struggle to comprehend my perspective. There exist countless excuses and reasons for my failure to fulfill the roles of a loving daughter and elder sister. The notion of thriving in solitude has entirely disappeared from my vocabulary, as today, the sense of ‘we’ dominates my thoughts. I am eternally grateful to my mother for imparting the best piece of advice to me.”

Shanvai Chonvai!
Daily writing promptWhat aspects of your cultural heritage are you most proud of or interested in?I belong to one of the indigenous tribes of the world called the Tangkhul Naga Tribe of Manipur, India. Though we don’t have a script of our own or a written history about our origin or roots, our culture and tradition were passed down from generation to generation through folklores, folk songs, or our traditional practices that were taught from a young age.
We take utmost pride in our cultural heritage by preserving it, although most of the old practices of animism were replaced by the advent of Christianity. Above all these I would like to mention the rich cultural and traditional dresses of my community (Shanvai Chonvai). The dresses are colorful and vibrant- women dresses are – kachon (Shawl*), Kashan (Wrap around), Kongsang (Neckpiece) etc…. Men’s clothing includes – Hao marao (Loin Cloth), Kachon (Shawl*), Paasi (Head gear) etc….
*Men and Women have different shawl. Can check out more about this in different websites and social medias if your are interested. Traditional dresses of Tangkhul – Search (bing.com)

Country music top the list!
Well! I have a peculiar taste in music, unlike my peers. My first go-to genres are country music and Christian hymns and contemporary worship music. Don William is at the top, which is later followed by other country song singers and hymns. It’s quite a difficult task to decide on my all-time favorite album.

Financial literacy
As the saying goes, “Human wants are unlimited.” I am pretty sure most people would like to have their maximum wants fulfilled. It can be physical, mental, or spiritual wants, or it can be anything under the sun and beyond. As for me, there are certain things that I would definitely want to acquire and am earnestly progressing towards, while others are just lingering in the back of my mind, longing for them without taking any action.
I would say the first thing that I would like to be more informed about is financial literacy right now. I know that I have very limited knowledge in this area. Psst, I was that one person who ignored budgeting and financial accounting classes :'( . It is indispensable for financial stability and success, and I am falling behind in this regard. I desire to be updated in this very topic in the coming days🤞.

Music is life
I ain’t a singer nor knows how to play any instruments. Nevertheless, I like to sing at my own chord. I usally hummed songs whenever I am alone or is going about my daily activities. Whichmeans I LOVE MUSIC!
I can’t care to imagine, “IF” I mean IF one day there’s no music in my life. It has all the emotions and feelings, praises and thanksgiving, adoration and submission I mean everything beyond what talking can do. The best consolation and comfort is found in music. No matter what it is; my life will be lifeless without music. 🙂

The last holiday!
If I recall back correctly, the last time I celebrated holidays with pomp and gaiety was some 15 to 18 years back. When all my family members come home together to celebrate Christmas. We don’t wear new dresses like our friends nor have money, yet we were contented. We had the love and care from our parents. We don’t have many friends yet we were friends to each other inseparable in fact. We were satisfied with the 10 or 20 rs sinju (local food- made from mixed vegetables and fermented fish). Gone were the days where we look forward for the small prices we got from games we played during the Christmas celebration. The prizes that we’d received from the bible exam we participated. It’s been years now to be back home altogether as we (4 siblings) are home very rarely.
