  • How I overcome Stage Fright and Empower Others

    Daily writing prompt
Have you ever performed on stage or given a speech?

Performing on stage is a diverse art form that encompasses various subjects. Most individuals are not inherently born as stage performers, yet some possess an inborn genius that allows them to effortlessly command the stage. While many people may shy away from the stage for any purpose, even if given the chance to do so, others excel in different artistic fields such as singing, acting, speaking, dancing, and more.

As for myself, I am not a singer, dancer, or orator with the eloquence of figures like Shashi Tharoor or Michelle Obama, nor can I sing like Taylor Swift. I am an ordinary individual who becomes flustered and blushes whenever I step onto the stage. Despite my perceived limitations, I have participated in numerous performances on both big and small stages.

My first experience on stage was in 1st standard when my mom urged me to recite a memory verse during the school assembly. I vividly recall feeling completely flustered and forgetting the lines I had learned. However, under the stern gaze of my mom, I managed to remember the verse, delivering it at lightning speed due to nervousness. Although no one could comprehend what I recited, I was excused that day as it marked my initial foray into stage performance.

Since then, I have engaged in choir singing, delivered speeches, oriented people, provided training, and now I serve as a trainer guiding others in communication. The journey to reach this point was not easy, but I am committed to becoming a better version of myself each day. I am confident that, If given the opportunity and proper guidance, we can all excel in different fields, even those we never dreamed of.

  • Aptitude test?

I am serious this time. I’ve noticed that my brain doesn’t function well during aptitude tests. Whenever I attempt one, I struggle to finish it with proper concentration or the will to think through the answers.

I am confident that this is the result of excessive exposure to social media. Lately, I’ve been so attached to it that sometimes I can’t even stay away for a minute. Now, I lack the confidence to tackle aptitude tests, and it’s bothering me.

I’m concerned about what might happen going forward. Do others face similar circumstances? In my case, it’s affecting my aptitude, but for others, it could be different experiences. We find ourselves in situations where it seems we lose control of our lives, and instead, life starts controlling us. This is a serious matter that I need to address and take immediate action on. I hope such situations don’t occur for anyone else.

  • Brand label shoes doesn’t matter

    Daily writing prompt
What is something others do that sparks your admiration?

I find immense joy in the enchanting melodies of those who possess exceptional singing abilities. Their musical prowess never fails to captivate me, soothing my soul with every strum of their instruments. The attraction I feel towards such individuals is akin to a bee drawn irresistibly to a flower.

Furthermore, when it comes to sports like football, basketball, or volleyball, the prowess displayed by skilled players is simply awe-inspiring. The rush of adrenaline they evoke is undeniable, often leaving me in a state of exhilaration. Jokes aside, I acknowledge that I am a person whose satisfaction is not easily attained, making it rare for me to genuinely like or accept someone. Once I form a connection with someone, I am unwilling to let it go easily, cherishing them with my entire being.

While I may struggle to express myself eloquently, I am keenly aware of the profound gratitude I hold for each person who has touched my life. Admittedly, I can exhibit selfish and stingy tendencies, particularly when it comes to matters of money.

As previously mentioned, the power of a captivating voice holds a special place in my heart. Neat and well-groomed attire sparks a significant interest in me, and I appreciate the meticulous care taken in maintaining clean footwear, regardless of whether it carries a brand label.

  • Childhood Cartoon

    Daily writing prompt
    What’s your favorite cartoon?

When we were young, we didn’t have a TV, so we rarely got to watch it, let alone a TV series. Even when we did watch, it was from the CD player, as the villagers didn’t have a signal to connect or a place to subscribe to channels. The one channel I remember was Tom and Jerry. We would run to our neighbors’ places to watch it and sometimes even had to contend with the elders for the channel, as they were uninterested in watching it. We were teenagers back then. I vividly remember the joy and laughter we shared with our cousins and talked about it after the show.

Gone are the days when we’d watch over three rupees dried Mattar and 50 paise sweets. We would quarrel about eating too much and too fast, not sharing with the others. We would also trick the younger ones into eating more than them—haha. Reminiscing about it gives me nostalgia. Thanks for this daily prompt topic.

  • Procrastination?

    Daily writing prompt
What could you do less of?

I really need to break free from procrastination; this habit has been bothering me lately. It crept in after I had those eerie nightmares (you know what I mean?). Yes, that’s right – exactly what you’re thinking. (You may want to refer to the “A Parrot in a Cage” page.) I am trying to cultivate the habit of taking swift action for all my responsibilities so that I do not become vulnerable to it.
